Build the integration layer that connects systems seamlessly using modern microservices and API gateway technologies. Design secure, scalable APIs that enable data flow between platforms.
This is initially a 12 month contract with a high chance of further extensions.
Responsibilities
- Develop microservices and REST APIs using Kong API Gateway and Node.js/Java frameworks
- Design reusable integration patterns for enterprise systems
- Implement API versioning strategies and lifecycle management
- Configure security enforcement using OAuth2, JWT, and API authentication
- Build secure, scalable APIs and integrations between SOS and external systems
- Ensure API performance, reliability, and monitoring
- Collaborate with application teams to understand integration requirements
- Document API specifications and integration patterns
Selection Criteria
- Strong experience developing microservices and REST APIs
- Hands-on expertise with Kong API Gateway
- Proficiency in Node.js and/or Java frameworks
- Deep understanding of API design patterns, versioning, and security
- Experience implementing OAuth2, JWT, and API authentication mechanisms
- Knowledge of integration architecture and enterprise integration patterns
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent collaboration and communication abilities
