Lead the implementation of enterprise-grade web application security using Akamai’s industry-leading platform. Protect critical applications from DDoS attacks, data leakage, and access-based threats while ensuring compliance with cyber security standards.
This is initially a 12 month contract with a high chance of further extensions.
Responsibilities
- Lead implementation of Akamai Web Application Firewall (WAF), CDN, and security configurations
- Configure and manage Akamai EdgeWorkers, Kona Site Defender, and Bot Manager
- Protect applications from DDoS attacks, data leakage, and access-based threats
- Develop security policies and rules aligned to enterprise cyber standards
- Monitor and respond to security events and incidents
- Optimize Akamai configurations for performance and security
- Collaborate with application and infrastructure teams on security integration
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship on Akamai best practices
Selection Criteria
- Proven experience implementing and managing Akamai WAF, CDN, and security solutions
- Hands-on expertise with Akamai EdgeWorkers, Kona Site Defender, and Bot Manager
- Strong understanding of web application security threats and mitigation strategies
- Knowledge of DDoS protection, data leakage prevention, and access control
- Experience aligning security configurations with enterprise cyber standards
- Strong analytical skills for security monitoring and incident response
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities
