Maximo Technical Lead

We are actively seeking an experienced Maximo Technical Lead to join our client’s team in Sydney. The Maximo Technical Lead will provide technical leadership across the design, development and solution assurance of Maximo solutions. The role will work closely with business stakeholders, architects, delivery teams and vendor partners to ensure solutions are fit for purpose, scalable, maintainable and aligned with established architecture, governance and development standards.

This is an initial 6-month contract, with the potential to extend for the right candidate. This is a hybrid role offering a combination of office and remote working.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical requirements gathering and design workshops to ensure Maximo solutions meet both technical and business requirements.
• Ensure technical solution designs are fit for purpose and comply with established architecture and governance standards.
• Provide strong functional configuration and development expertise across Maximo solutions.
• Ensure development standards are consistently applied, maintaining solution quality while reducing technical debt.
• Oversee technical solution design, ensuring standard product functionality is utilised wherever appropriate and customisation is kept to a minimum.
• Conduct development reviews and spot checks to ensure changes adhere to approved technical standards and delivery practices.
• Support technical assurance activities to ensure solutions are production-ready, appropriately documented and aligned with delivery expectations.
• Collaborate with architects, delivery teams, vendors and other technical resources to ensure solution designs are practical, sustainable and aligned with business requirements.
• Develop, review and maintain functional and technical documentation, including specifications, enhancement verification documents and requirements traceability matrices.
• Identify and manage outstanding design decisions, technical debt, risks and issues, escalating where appropriate.
• Develop and review solution options and provide recommendations to stakeholders to support technical and business decision-making.
• Provide support to related workstreams including data migration, reporting and integration.
• Provide specialist technical advice and support to stakeholders, leadership teams and product users.
• Lead root cause analysis activities to resolve issues and support long-term system and process improvements.
• Monitor solution performance and identify opportunities for enhancements and continuous improvement.
• Lead technical knowledge transfer sessions to improve solution understanding across teams.

Selection Criteria

• Undergraduate degree in Information Systems, a related discipline or equivalent. A postgraduate degree is desirable.
• Relevant technology product suite certifications.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in the transformation and delivery of technology product solutions.
• Significant experience in the design, development, solution assurance, documentation, testing and support of enterprise-scale applications across on-premise and cloud environments.
• Strong working knowledge of IT/Digital delivery management principles, frameworks and technology best practices.
• Demonstrated experience overseeing end-to-end implementations and ensuring solutions meet business requirements.
• Solid understanding of business structures within the utilities industry and how these can be represented within product data models.
• Extensive hands-on design and configuration experience.
• Strong ability to assess multiple solution options for changes or enhancements and determine the most appropriate approach.
• Ability to provide technical and functional expertise and guidance to others.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong stakeholder management skills, including the ability to facilitate discussions, deliver presentations and negotiate effectively.
