Solution Architect

One of our well reputed client, in Sydney, is looking for IT Solution Architect who will be overall responsible to define the architecture for implementation of IT Systems specific to the business challenges. This role must bring to bear a set of broad experiences and knowledge across Integration, Application and Infrastructure Architecture to support key business initiatives. The Solution Architect will be a technology expert and use solution building blocks to define solution concepts, estimate projects, and define architecture blueprints. In this function, the Solution Architect engages through the SDLC focusing on request/intake processes through discovery, requirements, and design phases. The individual will need to collaborate with Business stakeholders to understand their functional needs, research and evaluate new products that address the requirements, and formulate COTS and custom solutions that integrate with existing platforms.

This role will need to align solutions to the IT roadmap and enterprise standards and coordinate the architecture solution delivery through the Project Management Office (PMO), Infrastructure and Ops, and Development organizations.

Responsibilities

• Understand and anticipate the technological needs of the customers both in the present and in the mid- to long-term.
• Provide a big picture technical view of how different components interact and come together to provide business advantage while evolving existing solutions toward the overall technology strategy.
• Remain well-versed in latest technologies and cloud architecture patterns so as to provide them as potential solutions to business opportunities.
• Communicate with executives, directors and product managers to understand business opportunities, associated value propositions and provide technical consultation.
• Translate business opportunities and unknowns into clearly defined architecture solutions that development teams can implement.
• Ensure all solutions exhibit high levels of code quality, performance, scalability, security, maintainability, and appropriate reusability and reliability upon deployment.
• Work consultatively with development teams to help them take ownership of a solution while serving as a resource for guidance and mentoring.
• Assist in managing a landscape of perspectives, positions, skills, and personalities in order to lead/mentor people toward optimal solutions.
• Provide in-depth documentation, instructions and learning materials of all works being rolled out to the larger organization or teams – i.e. software/architecture designs and patterns that can be absorbed by development teams.
• Drive long-term cloud adoption within the company by developing deep relationships with IT decision makers and enable them to be cloud advocates.
• Promote acceptance of and conformance to technology strategy; solutions should utilize a common services platform-centric approach whenever possible.
• Promote a culture of innovation and mutual advancement within the development community.
• Continuously improve the software development process.

Selection Criteria

• 10+ years’ experience in a Technology/Management information Systems (MIS), Engineering, or related field.
• 5+ years of technical experience with application integration: SOA, Web Services, RESTful, Message Queue solutions using SOAP, JSON, XML, .NET stack (ASP.NET, MVC, REST, API, SQL, .NET CORE).
• 5+years of experience in an architecture role, designing end-to-end, enterprise solutions across the complete systems development lifecycle.
• Experience analysing the current business, detecting critical deficiencies, and recommending solutions for improvement.
• Familiarity with the agile methodologies and software development lifecycle (SDLC),
